1.Holistic Progress Card (HPC)
Recent News
The NCERT is replacing traditional report cards with a new holistic progress card.
Details
- The HPC, created by PARAKH, evaluates not only academic performance but also interpersonal skills, self-awareness, creativity, and emotional intelligence in educational settings.
- The features of something are its characteristics or qualities.
- The HPC is tailored for students in Classes 1-8 in line with the NEP 2020, utilising a comprehensive evaluation system that includes class activities, self and peer assessment, and parental feedback to enhance the connection between home and school.
- The HPC strives to enhance self-awareness, critical thinking, and overall development, in line with the NEP’s focus on evaluating competencies and providing feedback for improvement.
2.Chandrayaan-4
Recent News:
ISRO is preparing for the upcoming Chandrayaan-4 mission, which will aim to expand on the achievements of the Chandrayaan-3 mission in 2023 by tackling more challenging goals.
Details:
- The aim of Chandrayaan-4 is to land on the Moon and bring back rocks and soil samples to India.
- It consists of five spacecraft modules, including a propulsion module, a descender module for landing, an ascender module to collect and store samples, a transfer module to bring the ascender module back to Earth, and a re-entry module to land the samples on Earth.
- The mission will involve two separate launches using different launch vehicles. The LVM-3 will launch three components and the PSLV will launch the remaining two components.
3.National Youth Parliament Festival 2024
In News: The ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has recently organised the inaugural of the finals of the National Youth Parliament Festival, 2024
- Yatin Bhaskar Duggal from Haryana got the first prize in the National Youth Parliament Festival, 2024.
- The first National Youth Parliament Festival was held in 2019.
- The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports via the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and National Service Scheme (NSS) has been organizing the Youth Parliament.
- Aim: These Youth Parliaments are aimed at strengthening the roots of democracy; inculcate healthy conduct of the field, tolerance of the view of others and to permit youths to realize approximately practices and approaches of the Parliament.
4.e-Kisan Upaj Nidhi
In News: The Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has recently launched the ‘e-Kisan Upaj Nidhi’.
- It aims to prevent distress sale by farmers.
- E-Kisan Upaj Nidhi’ initiative will ease the farmers’ warehousing logistics with the help of generation and useful resources in receiving honest charges for his or her produce.
- Its simplified virtual process can ease the process of farmers’ storage at any registered Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA) warehouse for a duration of 6 months at 7% interest per annum.
5.Project Seabird
In News: The Defence Minister has recently inaugurated the infrastructure projects at the Indian Navy’s Karwar base under Project ‘Seabird.’
- The Project includes two predominant piers and 7 residential towers. The enlargement of the naval base is vital for accommodating a developing fleet and enhancing operational abilities.
- The first section of Project Seabird, concluded in 2011, was designed to deal with 10 ships.
- The Phase-IIA of the challenge consists of berthing facilities for 32 ships and submarines, alongside 23 yardcraft.
