Context

Despite the Ukraine war continuing for more than the last 2 years, the global support to Ukraine in this crisis time is still alive and it seems from the scenario, there are very little signs of ceasefire and de-escalations.

• • • • In order to counter Russia’s attempt to evade the earlier sanctions and to maintain a perfect synchronisation in terms of international financial transactions the current sanctions are targeted. This is called the Mir Payment system and was launched in 2017 in Russia.
