AIM releases compendium of innovations on agri, tech
NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission on Wednesday released a compendium on the innovations on technology. The ‘Innovations for You’ features 70 start-ups supported by Atal Incubation Centres (AICs) of AIM and ‘The Ingenious Tinkerers’ features 41 innovations from Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) of India. The digi-books were unveiled virtually in the presence of Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog; Ramesh Chand, Member Agriculture, NITI Aayog; Abhishek Singh, CEO, MyGov, and Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.

Govt. issues operational guidelines for PLI Scheme for textiles sector
The Centre on Tuesday released the operational guidelines for the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles. Under this, companies can begin the registration process from January 1-31, 2022, on the government’s online portal.In case of insufficient number of eligible applications, the application window for selecting new applicants will be reopened. In their application, companies will have to inform the ministry of textiles regarding their annual investment plan, expected sales, turnover, expected employment generation as well as exports during the tenure of the scheme, according to the guidelines.

NPS to allow 4 changes per fiscal in investment pattern
Pension fund regulator PFRDA will soon allow subscribers of the National Pension System (NPS) scheme to change investment patterns as many as four times during a financial year as there has been a demand to increase the limit, its chairman Supratim Bandyopadhyay said Tuesday. Currently, NPS subscribers are allowed to change the investment pattern twice in a financial year. “One can change the investment choice twice in a year. Now, in a very short period of time, we are going to increase it to four times because there are requests that you allow more number of times (to change the investment pattern),” he said, addressing a webinar on NPS scheme organised by industry body Assocham.

Former Afghan President Ghani listed among ‘most corrupt’ people of 2021
Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has been named as one of the most corrupt officials of the year by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a nonprofit investigative news reporting platform for independent media outlets around the world. The list was topped by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Others included in the list were – Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, Turkish President Recip Tayyip Erdoğan, and disgraced Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz, reported OCCRP. OCCRP said Ghani deserved an award because he “deserted his people leaving them to misery and death.”
