Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme
In News: The Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme is an initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and approach of government employees, particularly focusing on a citizen-centric service delivery model. This program is part of the broader Mission Karmayogi, which seeks to transform the civil services by fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Key Objectives
- Citizen-Centric Approach: The program emphasizes the importance of adopting a citizen-centric approach in public service delivery. It encourages government employees to prioritize the needs and satisfaction of citizens in their work.
- Leadership Skills Development: It provides opportunities for officers to develop leadership skills and adopt a solution-oriented mindset. This helps in addressing complex public service challenges more effectively.
- Seva Bhav: The program promotes Seva Bhav (service attitude) among civil servants, encouraging them to view their roles as opportunities to serve the public with empathy and dedication.
Pashu Aushadhi Kendras
In News: Pashu Aushadhi Kendras are a new initiative by the Indian government aimed at providing affordable generic veterinary medicines to farmers engaged in animal husbandry and dairying. This program is modeled after the successful Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs), which offer low-cost generic medicines for humans.
Key Features of Pashu Aushadhi Kendras
- Affordable Generic Medicines: These centers will provide high-quality generic veterinary medicines at lower prices, reducing the financial burden on farmers for animal healthcare.
- Implementation: The initiative is part of the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP), which has an overall outlay of ₹3,880 crore for the years 2024-25 and 2025-26. ₹75 crore is allocated specifically for the Pashu Aushadhi component.
- Operational Framework: The stores will be operated by cooperative societies and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSK). The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying will issue operational guidelines.
- Traditional Medicines: In addition to generic medicines, Pashu Aushadhi Kendras will also sell ethnoveterinary medicines based on traditional knowledge and practices to treat animal diseases.
SC on Misuse of CAMPA Funds
In News: Recently, the Supreme Court of India sought a reaction from the Uttarakhand Chief Secretary regarding allegations of misuse of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) budget.
- The Compensatory Afforestation Fund (CAF) Act, 2016, and its accompanying rules, notified in 2018.
- It targets to atone for the loss of wooded area ecosystems because of forest land diversion for non-forest area use.
- The Act establishes two special interest-bearing price range:
- the National Compensatory Afforestation Fund (National Fund) managed by the Central Government through the National CAMPA, and
- the State Compensatory Afforestation Fund (State Fund) controlled by the respective State Governments/UT Administrations via State CAMPA.
Festival of Letters 2025
In News: Sahitya Akademi is organizing its annual Festival of Letters at Rabindra Bhavan in New Delhi.
- It is Asia’s Largest Literature Festival with about 700 writers from distinct parts of the country representing more than 50 languages collaborating within the pageant that spans over 100 classes.
- The theme of the pageant might be Indian Literary Traditions and a National Seminar on the subject offering eminent thinkers and writers may be prepared during the last 3 days of the competition.
- It has representation from Young Writers, Women Writers, Dalit Writers, North-East Writers, Tribal Writers, LGBTQ Writers & Poets.
