  • Struggling to Meet Requirements: The Australian Defense Forces presently rely on approximately 90,000 personnel, such as reservists.
    • However, finding sufficient pilots, mariners, and troops to perform and preserve defence belongings stays a venture.

Global Soil Partnership (GSP)

In News: The Global Soil Partnership (GSP), recently urged for immediate action to enhance soil health, in its 12th Plenary Assembly Hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

• The Global Soil Partnership (GSP) was set up in 2012 to promote sustainable soil control.
• It brings together worldwide, local and country wide agencies which can be operating in the region of soil protection and sustainable control.
• GSP aims to implement the provisions of the 1982 World Soil Charter, and preserve the fitness of at least 50 percent of the sector’s soils by 2030.
• The achievements of the partnership, consist of:
  • The established order of an Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils and related global networks for distinctive soil matters;
  • The proposal for and annual celebration of the UN World Soil Day (5 December) and the International Year of Soils 2015;
• Production of the Status of the World’s Soil Resources 2015 document.
