e-Zero FIR system

In News:The government has launched an e-Zero FIR system for cybercrime in 18 states and UTs, utilizing the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and helpline 1930 under Section 173(1) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Over 12,000 cases are registered.

• Legal Basis: Enabled by Section 173(1) of BNSS 2023 for electronic reporting of cognizable offenses.

• Process: High-value cyber financial fraud reports automatically trigger an e-Zero FIR, routed via CCTNS to territorial stations.
• Condition: Complainants must visit the local police station within three days for formal conversion.
• Benefit: Speeds up the “golden hour” response to freeze fraudulent bank trails.

Corporate Mitra Scheme

In News: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Shillong organised a webinar on awareness about Corporate Mitra Scheme.

• The Corporate Mitra Scheme is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and is administered by Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA).
• This is to improve the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem with the creation of a pool of trained and accredited Corporate Mitras (paraprofessionals) who can provide low-cost business and compliance support.
• The scheme is aimed at tier-2 and tier-3 cities where the access to professional consulting services for MSMEs is less.
• This scheme aims to impart this course to 2,000 persons across the country and the first 200 persons from the North Eastern Region will be offered a 50% concession on the course fee.

In News: Moonshot AI, a Chinese artificial intelligence company, has temporarily suspended new subscriptions for its AI chatbot due to its overwhelming success with the launch of its new Kimi K3 model, which consumed too many GPUs in its computing.

• Kimi K3 is an artificial intelligence startup named Moonshot AI’s new large language model (LLM).
• It has shown frontier performance in coding and reasoning tests, matching the performance of top AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic in various tasks.
• The model should be available as an open weight model, which can be downloaded and executed locally by developers.
