Two Day International Conference on Yoga at Mysuru
The Ministry of AYUSH is organizing the ‘International Conference on Yoga’ on 15th-16th November 2019 at Mysuru, Karnataka. The theme of the conference is ‘Yoga for Heart Care’. More than 700 national and international delegates are expected to participate in the conference spread over ten technical sessions. Pre-conference events such as Yoga Walk, mass Yoga demonstration, CME programmes etc are also planned to project the health benefits of Yoga and healthy lifestyle.

MHA Launches Campaign to End Violence against Women
The Ministry of Home Affairs in Cooperation with the UN Women has flagged off an awareness campaign to end violence against women. The initiative is a part of the #OrangeTheWorld global campaign. As a part of the campaign, the citizens would be made aware about the country’s single emergency helpline number i.e. 112, which is also an internationally recognized emergency number used in a number of countries.

Forex Reserves Reaches $448 Billion
Foreign Exchange Reserves of the country continued to be in an upward surge, this time by USD 1.710 billion in the week to November 8. This enabled the FOREX reserves to touch a new high point of USD 447.81 billion, as per the weekly data released by the Reserve Bank of India.  The increase was primarily on the back of a rise in the foreign currency assets, a major component of the overall reserves. However, during the ensuing week, gold reserves declined by USD 443 million to USD 26.910 billion.

India to Host 8th International Conference on Agricultural Statistics
The 8th International Conference on Agricultural Statistics is scheduled to be organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in New Delhi from 18th – 21st November 2019. The conference is being hosted in collaboration with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), FAO, ADB, World Bank and various other international organizations. It is for the first time that such an important conference in the field of agriculture statistics is happening in India. The conference is being organized by the Ministry of Agriculture with an aim to address various challenges faced in producing data to report on the SDGs and various leading research and also to deliberate and finalize the best practices in the field of agricultural statistics.

India to Contribute $13.5 MN for UN Developmental Activities For 2020
India, on its part has pledged to contribute USD 13.5 million for various operational activities of development across the UN agencies for the year 2020. The decision is in line with the country’s long standing of supporting developmental activities across the UN system. India will also be contributing USD 100,000 each to the UN Voluntary contribution for Financial and Technical Assistance for the implementation of Universal Periodic Review, UN Environment Programme and UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
